Chalk Talk Change Up

This week, my MOMS Club held their annual Emergency Services Appreciation Picnic for the local law enforcement, fire departments, and ambulance company. Its always a fun afternoon!! The kids love seeing the trucks and equipment used, and the Emergency Service people seem to enjoy sharing their afternoon with us.

One of the exciting parts of our afternoon, the Sheriffs K9 Demonstration
This year, our fabulous Membership VP asked for donations from local businesses to raffle off (free tickets with attendance) for the Emergency Services members. Wow! Did our hometown and area businesses come through! Generous donations allowed us to raffle off gift certificates for lunches, dinners, golf, a photo shoot, movie tickets and baskets of goodies!  We also received donations of food and drinks to serve at the picnic! It was awesome!!

So onto the crafty part!! LOL
I made some certificate holders with the Envelope Punch Board, as we got gift cards and gift certificates in various sizes, but we wanted them to be easy to hand out. I had started to cut and prep for them...when I remembered that our theme colors were Red White and Blue. Dangit!! So I changed it up and made these red white and blue ones to use.
Silhouette Cut Thank You, Various Blue cardstock and DSP, Real Red Accents.

But I still had some envelopes cut already, in other colors. What to do?! Waste Not, Want Not:
And that is how you get today's project!!
Gift Certificate Holders - 9x4.5" to accommodate various size certificates
I had some Mossy Meadow and Pear Pizazz envelopes trimmed out - gotta love the Envelope Punch Board which can create envelopes in up to 63 different sizes!! Woot!
For these two samples I used the Color Me Autumn and the All Is Calm Designer Series Paper sets. I used the Chalk Talk stamp set to match the color combo, and just die cut the tags with the coordinating Chalk Talk Framelits.

I like these, and will probably make more, as they are super easy! Pretty handy for those 8x11" or odd size certificates. Maybe for a Thanksgiving hostess gift, certificate for dinner where she Doesn't have to cook? ;-) A letter and a gift card? Tickets to a game or play? Custom wedding or birthday invitations, invites that you want to use a certain theme paper for... Use up that scrapbook paper making envelopes for Happy Mail, or gift card holders? There's no end to the uses for these envelopes! I LOVE the Envelope Punch Board! Trust me - USEFUL. And versatile - boxes, bows, clever little projects out there on the Internet... addictive!

Enjoy your weekend! Wishing you some Cre8time!!
Happy Crafting!

Teacher Appreciation Week, Mothers Day, Graduation - Gift Ideas

You have time to order and make something your amazing teacher will love! Or, you can just order one of these amazing kits to give to your awesome teacher to enjoy their own crafty break! Teacher Appreciation Week is May 5 - 9th. Mothers Day follows on its heels on May 11th, and then at the end of May and into June we will be enjoying the Graduation season. These products I'll share below are available until May 31 as part of our Occasions Catalog.
You can shop and find item specifics in my online store at www.MidnightCrafter.StampinUp.net
or I have included the links to each product in the titles below.
Orders usually take 1-3 days to ship, but will ship directly to you. Expedited shipping is available.

Kits are an easy way to get everything you need for a project, without having to figure it all out yourself and spend a fortune! This makes them perfect for giving as a gift, a nice little creative escape for your recipient; but also pretty brilliant to keep on hand for that last minute gift you can make, or to enjoy a break from your regular crafting! Everything is precut, premeasured, and coordinated, with instructions and photos so you can stick to the directions - or branch out and explore your own path of creation! You'll end up with a great handmade item!

Stampin' Up! put together some fabulous, fun, giftable kits for you to choose from, take a look:
The banner I use in my craft show display, with Calypso Coral Add On
Celebration Basics Kit - 133007 - Price: $14.95
Parties are easy when when you start with this kit to create the foundation for your party décor. Finish it off with a Celebration Add-On Kit.
This is a great banner, with some perfect other items in the kit to use for a party, but the banner - really easy to assemble, and sturdy enough that you can pack it away to use again later! You can spell out Celebrate - which is perfect for most any occasion, or you can use your Boggle skills and spell out something else... like Create, for a creative space like a classroom or craft room, or Elect for school elections, or Cereal, Trebel, Race, Tree, Bear. Ok, my Boggle skills are few, but you get the idea. Google says there are 186 words you can make from the letters CELEBRATE, so you have options!! You can also cut out and add your own letters, making any word your little heart desires! Maybe a team name, or your classroom college or mascot, different holidays or celebrations... Its a versatile banner! Great gift for Mothers day - embellish with flowers, or hang over a nice tablescape and you'll wow Mom! Great gift for Teachers to use in their classrooms, and if you bring it in to Clelebrate the teacher, they can re-use it to Celebrate the end of the year! Or the start of the new year... You get the idea. An easy and great looking banner for all your celebrations.

If you need a dash of color to add to the Celebration Basics Kit, there are two options:
Calypso Coral Celebration Add On - 133431 - $9.95
a pretty coral (pinkish) addition, with gold and grey accents, that includes some fancy paper you can add behind the letters on your banner, or use to add to your invitations or party decor, and a beautiful garland of coordinated circles sewn together. A bunch of sweet elements to add a splash of color to a girls baby shower, or a princess party, or a ladies brunch or tea. The colors are feminine, sophisticated, and easy to coordinate with.

Bermuda Bay Celebration Add On - 133432 - $9.95
this crisp bright blue, with accents of grey and yellow, is another great option to add some color to the basic kit. Perfect for a baby boy shower, a cool beach theme or pirate party, or other summer get together. Very fun, bold, and modern.

Burlap and Blooms Simply Created Wreath Kit - 133333 - $17.95
You can see my posts on this super fun kit HERE, I just love it!! The colors are very much for spring, and mild enough to go well with any decor. A great gift for mom, to make or receive as a kit to make, but this is really a fun kit to enjoy in a group - get together and make these for your teachers as a PTA gift! Your sorority group, or ladies group at church, coworkers, neighbors, etc :-) would have a fun time sitting together and making these! Its not difficult, you just need a hot glue gun. It includes everything already cut, you just follow the instructions to assemble the flowers, and then arrange them to your liking on the burlap wreath. Very soft spring colors, pink/coral, light blue, grey, yellow, and white, on a burlap ribbon wrapped wreath form. Great addition to your brunch decor, or to a cubicle or classroom.

Mini Memories Simply Created Album Kit - 133332 - $13.95
This sweet little album would be a nice way to preserve or highlight your memories of a special someone (MOM! Teacher! Graduate!) or to share the adventures you had on a (field-)trip, or vacation, or show how much someone has grown over the year(s). It comes with adhesive pieces, little accents, and journaling tags, you just assemble and add your own photos and mementos. A sweet gift to give to Mom that you have completed for her, or a nice gift to give the graduate or teacher to take on that summer vacation!

Happenings Simply Created Card Kit - 133329 - $14.95
This is a versatile little card kit! In just minutes you can make 15 cards, and though it does not include a stamp set, you can personalize the cards with the set of your choice, or use them as blank note cards for any purpose! The colors are gender neutral, so these will work for either Mom or Dad, and what teacher or graduate doesn't need a stack of note cards on hand?!? Make them and tie them up with a ribbon for a sweet useful gift, or give them the kit and let them enjoy the ease of creativity that comes with using one of Stampin' Up!s great kits!!

These are just a few of the kits we offer, and I have even more ideas for you if you are looking to put together a basket or bag for a gift. Let me know what you need help with!

We also offer a great monthly subscription kit, Paper Pumpkin, which you can now purchase prepaid subscriptions for - a great gift that will keep on giving! Its got a different craft project each month, everything you need is included in the box with instructions.

More information on Paper Pumpkin can be found in this post HERE or in the tab at the top of my blog

Everything is pre-cut, pre-measured, pre-coordinated... you just assemble and arrange, and it comes out GREAT!!!

This kit is available in our 2014 Spring Catalog, and the colors are just gorgeous. Burlap and pastels, it will breathe a little breath of spring into your home or office. It could make a nice gift, or just attach a photo or two and give it to a friend!

Here are some pictures from a couple of the group craft sessions where we've made this wreath. Its so nice to sit and laugh with friends while you make something. The laughter gets caught up in what you make, so when you look at it later you have so many reasons to smile!

And, for you that are still singing the "I'm not crafty" song... You need to change your tune!!
"She's Crafty!" will be running through your head every time you look at this awesome wreath! #earworm

Spring Occasions Catalog - Celebrate the Everyday

This new Stampin' Up! catalog is ALL about celebrating! Its chock FULL of celebrating! And that's awesome for us, because right now it coincides with the SALE-a-bration event too!!

I love the fresh new layout for the catalog, with the projects and ideas really highlighted in the front pages, and then the specs and details on the new product suites at the back. I think it gives you so much inspiration without bogging you down in details. And oh my gosh, INSPIRATION!

(I know, I use CAPS a little too often up there, but just wait till you see the catalog - you'll agree, CAPS!!)

Looking through it, you'll find great ideas for parties and celebrations, some super "pinterest-worthy" home decor ideas - beautiful for spring or Easter or to give as gifts. Speaking of gifts!! I am super excited by how much Stampin' Up! is stepping up their gift giving options to help a busy mama out! Be it boxes, bags, or tags, the new products are simply scrumptious! Looks like it took you hours, but whip up some gorgeous class treats, teacher appreciation gifts, or birthday/wedding/shower favors  in no time at all! Thank you!! With all the holidays and gift giving occasions coming up, I can really Celebrate all the options I find in the catalog!! LOL

AND - with every $50 you spend on these supplies to WOW with the gifting, you'll get a FREE gift yourself with one of the Sale-a-bration special product sets! Available only through March 31st, Sale-a-bration has lots of rewards for shopping, hosting a workshop, or joining (its the BEST time to join, trust me!).

Contact me today to find out more information, and request my newsletter so you're always in the know! In the comments section, let me know if you'd like me to send you these fun new catalogs!

Here are some quick cards I made from the Water Color Wonder Designer Note Cards & Envelopes. I love that even though they have their own distinct product suite in this new catalog, because Stampin' Up! has coordinating families of colors I was able to use the Gingham Garden and Epic Day Washi tapes to embellish the envelopes. You've got to feel these note cards too - heavy watercolor paper, just very deluxe! Great for giving as gifts, or using yourself! Love!!

To make your own: Water Color Wonder Note Cards & Envelopes, Bring on the Cake and Lots of Thanks stamp sets, nature motifs from Simply Sketched Hostess stamp set; Epic Day This and That Washi Tape; Gingham Garden Washi Tape, Black and Gumball Green Ink.
