Something Blue... Love Story Project Life Bermuda Bay Cards

Project Life Love Story Bermuda Bay Stampin Up MidnightCrafting
Shades of softly bright, beautiful blue, Bermuda Bay. It sure is hot here in the Central Valley this week!! I added blue with wistful thoughts of cooler temps, cooler locations, basically anything that is cooler than the 95+degree weather we are enjoying here in CA!

Candy Dots, Basic Jewels Rhinestones, and some bakers twine add a little extra interest. Some washes of color with the Blender Pen and my Bermuda Bay ink pad, and Dimensionals to add some leveraged layers... Pretty fun playing with these cards!!

Love Story Project Life Greeting Cards

Project Life Love Story Stampin Up MidnightCrafting Cardmaking
Working with Project Life cards is pretty fun, so many options! Besides memory keeping, I mean. Today I just used a few of the 4x6 cards and trimmed them to fit a standard A2 card. I think they came out pretty fun, I especially like the great hand lettering fonts! These are just a few of the 100 card collection. Kind of nice to just futz with the layout and embellishments... ;-) LoL #easy

Masculine Friendly Wishes Layered Letters Fathers Day

Layered Letters Fathers Day Friendly Wishes Masculine Card Idea
Have you wondered what guys favorite colors are? I kind of wondered, because almost alllllll the cards for men are made in shades of brown. Brown, it turns out, is one of EVERYONES least favorite colors... Go Figure. Google it. :-) Interesting stuff.

This is a simple card for my dad. He put up this cool shelf for me in my laundry, so I thought I'd send him a little thank you. You could use this for Fathers Day, if your dad is a sweet and simple dad like mine! ;-)

What I really wanted to share though, was how AWESOME these Layered Letter Alphabet Stamps are!! You can customize that Fathers Day card for your Papa, Daddy, Dada, Opa, Papi, Pop, Pops, Granpa, Dadda, GrandPa, StepDude, etc.... These will come in handy for birthdays and special days too, I'm so excited and glad I got this set!!

How To : Note Card Set Endless Birthday Wishes with Cherry On Top

Cherry on Top Endless Birthday Wishes MidnightCrafting
Its fun to mix and match stamp sets, and luckily so many of Stampin' Up! stamp sets 'play well with others'! LoL But sometimes, keeping it simple has its advantages! This note card set, for example, uses one stamp set and one Designer Paper Series Stack with minimal embellishment - but has optimal impact!

Note cards are a great economical alternative to full cards for a few reasons. They are slightly smaller, at 3.5" x 5" folded, so you use less resources like adhesive and paper, embellishments and ribbon. They come in a package of 20 cards AND envelopes, for a nice savings in overall paper and envelope costs. And they are pre-scored, ready to fold, stamp, and send, which saves you time and energy in preparing to craft. (really? yes, I'm that lazy busy! Preparing to craft is half the craft session, sometimes! LoL)

These are the supplies I used:

Its pretty easy to guess the theme of this Designer Series Paper Stack, what with all the cake and ice cream and candles and balloons: It's A Birthday or Party type stack. So I thought I would get good use out of it by pairing it with the Endless Birthday Wishes stamp set. And yes. Endless Options! Wheeeee!!!

I started with a card that would show off a bunch of those party prints, this panel card with strips of different paper. On the back of some of the bolder prints are the subtler and more "background" type prints, perfect to use as the panel base.

3/4" Strip onto 3" x 4.5" panel
I picked several patterns I liked - they all go together, that's the beauty of the Designer Series Paper Stack: It coordinates with itself wonderfully! I cut pieces of the 4.5 x 6" sheets into 0.75" x 6". For this card I couldn't quite get 2 cards out of it, because it uses slightly more than half when I placed the strips at an angle. But I liked the look, and I have lots of paper! I stacked the strips at an angle up the card, using Snail to stick the strips down.

Once they were stacked I stamped my greeting across the top. I turned the panel over and trimmed off the excess parts of the strips.

I used about 5 different layouts, but alternated the paper patterns to create 20 different cards. You can see more of them in this post HERE. I also used the Cherry On Top Paper Stack to embellish the envelopes. This is a really simple but adorable way to add a little excitement to the outside of your envelope. Cut a 2" x 6" strip of paper that goes with the papers used on the card. You could totally use whichever paper you liked, they DO all go together, but it adds a nice bit of matchy-matchy when you use the exact print that is somewhere on the card. If you want to be super coordinated. ;-)

2" x 6" strip of paper will cover the envelope flap easily.
Add rows of Snail Adhesive for a secure stick.
Add your strip and smooth it out. Trim the excess off with scissors.

Voila! Matchy-matchy Magnificence!
Hope you are inspired to try your own, these are an easy way to get a bunch of cards done in a short amount of time. Perfect for all those summer events! What Paper and Stamp Set duo are you going to try?

Note Cards Endless Birthday Wishes with a Cherry on Top

Endless Birthday Wishes Cherry on Top MidnightCrafting
Cherry on Top DSP and Endless Birthday Wishes
Note Cards are an amazing little package of perfection. Big enough to hold a nice note, a gift card, a little special something; but small enough to attach to a bouquet or tuck in a lunch box. Great for gifts, which is why I made a pack using Endless Birthday Wishes and the Designer Series Paper Stack Cherry On Top.

I made 20 cards. Yep. 20!! In an evening! I used some (not even a whole pack) of the Designer Series Paper Stack Cherry On Top; Gold Bakers Twine; Whisper White Note Cards & Envelopes; Stampin' Dimensionals; Snail Adhesive; Watermelon Wonder and Bermuda Bay Stamp Pads.

Here are some of the cards I made ( I did make doubles of some! )

National Doughnut Day with a Cherry on Top

MidnightCrafting Doughnut Day Cherry on Top Stampin Up
Doughnuts!! Or Donuts? Delicious, however you spell it...
National Doughnut Day. Its a thing.
In my house we celebrate with donuts. Fridays after a hard week, we will get up early and go get doughnuts. Last Day of School. First Day of School. National Doughnut Day. ;-) We love a donut now and then. Usually we would be out celebrating today, but I'm nursing a sick toddler and we did not make it to the shop.

But, I have doughnuts on the brain so today's card is of course: Doughnuts!
I thought immediately of the cute new Designer Paper Stack I got from the 2015-16 Annual Catalog, Cherry on Top. I t has this cute pattern of donuts with sprinkles. I made the doughnuts using my circle punches.
MidnightCrafting Doughnut Day Cherry on Top Stampin Up

For the first card, I used the stamp set Endless Birthday Wishes. I used the dots to create the sprinkles on the doughnuts. I think it came out OK, I didn't really love the layout so I changed it for the second card. I also mimicked the heart sprinkles in the paper print by using my Confetti Hearts Punch. Better...Maybe.
MidnightCrafting Doughnut Day Cherry on Top Stampin Up

And finally I tries the confetti heart punch on the doughnuts themselves. I layered the colored circles over white to get the white print, then I embedded the punches back in mixing the colors. Not time consuming, AT ALL.... LOL

But I really loved this card the most. I used Remembering Your Birthday for the sentiment. Cuteness!!

Hope you had a deliciously delightful day!
Don't forget to celebrate with donuts any day you please - they are a sweet little treat!

Big On You Amazing Birthday Crazy About You Fathers Day Card

Big on You Amazing Birthday Crazy About You MidnightCrafting Fathers Day 1
Oh, the things you can make when you mix and match sets! LOL
I don't usually, just to keep things simple, but I really wanted to make this card for Fathers Day and it required elements from three stamp sets! And Embossing?!? Yikes, ambitious!
No, maybe, but in reality it was a lot easier than I thought. Always nice to discover, huh?

I tried the card without the embossing, but I think it s a little too plain. The 'Stepped Up' version with the embossing feels much better. What do you think?

The colors used are Crumb Cake, Night of Navy, and Daffodil Delight. The Zig Zag Embossing Folder is retired (hurry, might be in the retiring accessories today! but tomorrow...).
